Standard Account Types

With a minimum deposit of $100, the STO Classic account gives traders access to the MT4 platform, spreads from 1.6 pips and leverage of 1:500. Traders who also want to branch out into trading shares, bonds, oil, and metals can also do so from this account, making it quite versatile. While I find the spreads quite wide, this is expected for an account with such a low minimum deposit.

For those who want the classic account, with tighter spreads, the STO Premium account is a better option for you. With a minimum deposit of USD 2000, you will get spreads from 0.4 pips and leverage up to 1:500 and MT4 platform access – as with the classic account. The premium account is good for the serious trader who could see spending time trading a wide range of instruments and potentially becoming a professional trader.

The Pro account tightens spreads up even more for the serious trader with spreads as tight as 0.3 pips. With a higher minimum deposit of $10,000, this account is targetted at the trader who is comfortable with trading and is seeking better trading conditions. Since MT4 is the platform used, this makes it easy to migrate away from another broker with limited interruption. The Pro account offers much more historical data in the charts than both the premium and classic accounts, which makes analysis over longer timeframes easier. Maximum leverage on this account is set at 1:200.

The VIP account offers spreads from 0 pips and 12 months of data in the charts. For the MT4 professional trader, this is the account to choose. Minimum deposit for this account type is $50,000 but for serious day-traders this in an average amount to have invested with a broker.

AFX Fast

This account uses the AFX Fast platform instead of the MT4 platform and requires a minimum deposit of $2,000. The spreads are as tight as the Premium account. The main differences with this account type are it does not include signals, the chart data that comes with the four standard accounts above and leverage is reduced to 1:00. The advantage with this account is to be able to use the AFX Fast platform for your trading.
