STO for Beginners

STP is an ECN/STP broker, where much of the focus is on reducing the cost per trade for clients.  That said, STO offers strong support for traders with a premium set of EAs (Expert Advisors), Strategy lessons and free signals.  Client services are available 24/5 to help with account related and technical setup questions.

Educational Material

STO offers structured education to those who register for a live account. Split into two courses, classic and advanced; there are eight lessons on topics from the basics of technical trading and risk management to fundamental analysis. While this course will not suit advanced traders, both courses will serve beginner traders well. A downloadable ebook is available upon registration of a demo account.

At times in the past, STO has been very active in webinars where an analyst will walks traders through different forms of analysis or a new approach to including tools in their trading.

Analysis material

Premium, Pro and VIP client accounts receive premium EAs. Clients who deposit will receive an email notification to download the EAs which will automatically be integrated to the trading platform and ready to be used.

Premium chart indicators and trading signals for FX, Index, Oils, Metals and Shares are free of charge, as well as a library of more than 70 different trading strategies.

Client Onboarding

Following signing up for your account, STO will need to complete their back-office work, where they check the papers you have submitted to support your account.  This is done quickly as the STO back office department is open until 8 pm Cyprus time.  Documents should be either sent via email or uploaded through the trading area.  As soon as your registration is complete, you will get a phone call to see if you need help with completing the documents.

Clients have access to 24/5 live chat support, and each client has a dedicated account manager who can be reached via e-mail, Skype and phone.

Trading Conditions

All accounts have Negative balance protection and offer trading conditions and opening requirements suitable for the beginner, experienced and professional trader.  STO Clients can trade seven asset classes – Forex, Indices, Metals, Oil, Equities and Bonds,

Standard Account Types

Classic

The STO Classic account requires a minimum deposit of $100, which then opens access to the MT4 platform and spreads from 1.6 pips with leverage from 1:500. Shares, bonds, oil, and metals can be traded in addition to FX and other CFDs.

The STO classic account does include free trading signals but does not include the EAs or additional chart indicators.

Premium

The STO Premium account has spreads as tight as 0.4 pips in exchange for a higher initial deposit of $2000. Besides getting access to three months of historical chart data and indicators plus the EAs, much is the same on the account – the MT4 trading platform is standard and leverage up to 1:500.

Pro

The STP Pro account tightens spreads even more up to 0.3 pips. With a higher minimum deposit of $10,000, this account is targetted at the experienced trader.

The Pro account includes six months of historical charts data, MT4 and leverage up to 1:200.

VIP

The STO VIP account with spreads from 0.0 pips and 12 months of chart data, and is targetted at the professional trader. The minimum deposit for this account type is $50,000. Share trading is not available on this account.

AFX Fast

The AFX Fast account uses the AFX Fast platform instead of the MT4 platform. Opening conditions require a minimum deposit of $2,000. The spreads are as tight as the Premium account at 0.4 pips, but leverage is reduced to 1:100.

This account does not include signals, EAs, chart data or trading signals.

Trading Platforms

STO gives you two ways to trade – with MT4 or with AFX Fast.

With the MT4 platform, you can trade anywhere, anytime via STO’s WebTrader. Deposits and Withdrawals

You can make deposits with STO by way of traditional credit cards or by banking wire transfer.
